If you can, try and spend a night in an inn in Lahaina, the ancient capital of Maui. This is a beautiful place, with lots of history to discover,
plus museums and a history trail This was also a thriving spot in the 1940s and 1950s, when local fishermen and fish markets were serving lots of plantation workers
who came to work on pineapple farms. 40s Fashion was alive an well here in Lahaina, and all of Maui, where a US army base was established in the mid 40s. At one time,
there were around 100,000 soldiers on Maui.
